The Devil’s Game
Everyone plays, but only some will win. This was the motto for the sick disgusting game that our captor put us in. Let’s go back to the beginning where it all started.
It was a bitterly cold winter night, somewhere around midnight on January 3rd, 1784. A few of my friends along with myself, went for a ride in our horse drawn carriage and we were having a grand ole time.
We were on our way home and made a quick stop so we could get out and stretch our legs and check all the running boards to make sure they weren’t broken and to make sure that the yoke wasn’t broke since that was the only thing connecting the horse to the carriage. Once we finally got done checking everything and were getting into the carriage we all noticed one of our friends, James Tally, was missing. We all yelled for him but we never heard him yell back and he never showed up. We were all worried out of our minds and to be honest kind of scared because we didn’t know what happened to him. So we decided to go look for him. None of us thought that he could be too far away so we looked near the carriage but never found him. Once we got away from the horse and started to get close to the wood line on the other side of the field, where we first stared, we heard something that sounded like someone yelling for help so we ran as fast as we could towards the voice.
As we got closer to the yelling we realized it was James yelling for help. Once we got into the woods we finally found him. His hands and feet were tied together and then he was tied to a small tree so he couldn’t go anywhere. The rest of us started to untie him when we heard a voice that sounded almost evil or demented calling out from the dark saying “Wanna play a game?” At that moment we were all terrified and had no idea what was about to happen. We couldn’t see exactly who said it because our lanterns only shined about ten or twelve feet out in front of us. Then a man dressed in a black leather trench coat, black knee high leather boots, and a pair of black pants, along with a kind of scarf/ hood type thing wrapped around his head hiding his face, stepped out into the light and said to us that we were not to leave or our friend, if we did we would die.  We knew then that we were prisoners of this mystery man. So Jackie, James’ sister, Orville, one of my best friends, and myself Paul, all decided to sit down on a log next to James and listen to the guy in black. I asked who he was and he told me he was Volac.
As we sat there on that log watching that guy as he stared back at us I leaned over to say something to James and thats when the mystery guy became something other than a man. He ripped off his scarf that was covering his face and we could see everything. Scars that ran from the upper right portion of his forehead to the bottom left of his jaw. The scars were deep and jagged almost like they were done with massive claws and his eyes were like those of a cat’s, long slits in the middle and the color of them were and dark yellowish red but not quite orange. He had big veins in the side of his neck and he also had huge ram like horns coming out of the top of his head. He was huge and muscular. His hands are huge and strong looking with massive claws and a few scars here and there. On his right hand his pinky had been torn off but didn’t heal right. It was jagged and you could see that it had been ripped off at the joint.  But the thing I thought was the most scary was the fact that his mouth had been sewn shut but was partially ripped back open so he could speak.
He screamed at me in his evil voice and told me to get back from James and to not move until told to. He had us all get up, after he untied James, and walk back to the horse and carriage. Once we got back there he tied all of us up and put black bags over our faces and told us to lay down in the back of the carriage. Then we were taken somewhere and dropped off in a fenced in area that was full of wildlife and plants and things like that. The fence was too tall to climb and there was no way to fit through it. We were trapped. After a while Volac started talking over a loudspeaker but we couldn't tell where it was coming from. He said that we were part of his little game that he made for us. We started trying to yell at him and ask what kind of game it was but there was no answer. We sat there scared, wondering what was going to happen and how we were going to get out. After a while Volac came to the edge of the fence and told us that this was the last time we were going to  see each other alive. We all looked at each other and asked him what he meant but before he said anything four other demons came out of the forest and took the four of us different directions. I could hear the others screaming and yelling for the demons to let go. After a few minutes of being carried through the woods by the demon he put me down by small wooden box and a gun and told me to sit still and wait for Volac to talk to me. So I sat there until it got dark and I was starting to fall asleep and heard the loud speaker come on and it was Volac’s voice.
Volac said that the four of us were now in his game. We had to kill each other. Only one of us can live, and I knew then I was no longer anyones friend. I was now a cold blooded killer.
