His eyes were oceans, reflecting his sorrows like moonlight on a still current.  All of the hope and longing pooled into his veins, hidden behind walls of indecision.  Clouded by doubt, he watched the girl of the sky.  She moved with a grace, unmatched by any and mesmerizing to all.  Her fingertips trailed across the dead of night just as wisps of smoke loom above a steady flame.  She's the kind of girl god gives you while you're young, so you know loss for the rest of your life.  Angelic, even when she is hurting.  Her eyes were stars, glimmering like a comet in illumination.  Those eyes watched the boy of the sea.  And the boy of the sea stared right back at her.  A deadly web of admiration.

Now I wouldn't call this love.  Love is a word that conveys such a deep range of emotion, it is untouchable.  Love is too faulty, too impure.  Love is your greatest achievement and greatest loss.

Every day, the two beings surveyed one another from their faraway worlds.  While he stared through the thin curtain of sea foam, she gazed through the invisible barrier.  They dared not take a risk.  Never could he bring himself to push past the surface to reach her delicate figure up above.  And so they remained like this, looking at the one thing that they could not have.  They were locked in fear's deadly tango.  It is evident that they did not love each other, for it was something indescribable.  It was something more than love.  They possessed something more than love, yet they didn't unleash it.  The pair was entwined in an unfulfilled dream.  A dream from which they will never wake up.

I was inspired by nature and the small burst of courage that could create a wonderful relationship.
