“Oh My Gosh! Sam I got accepted to NC State and I made the Dance Team!” “Oh my gosh Summer thats great im so happy for you!” “Yeah im beyond excited, I just hope I get good places for the dance”. “Well of course you will Summer you’re an amazing dancer”. “Yeah… thank you so much but I don’t know, what if i’m the weakest one their”. “Summer stop worrying about it you are amazing”! “Well i guess you’re right I mean you’ve never been wrong”.

A few days later I left for NC State and the campus was absolutely beautiful. So after i got settled in I went and met the choreographer which after a few days I found out that he had very good choreography. We immediately started working on our dances. They really watched me after a few days of being there. I decided to call Sam one night to see how things were going, he was doing good. He asked how I was I told him it was pretty good and that I was settled in and they were really watching me. He told me that was a good thing because they were noticing how good I was.

After my first week of being there they called me up to the front to perform the whole dance for the class. I was beyond nervous but I did it and I felt like I did really good. They decided to put me up front in this dance and I was so happy. A lot of the dancers started to talk to me and told me I was really good. Well me and the dancers became good friends, while we danced we also had fun. Some girls didn’t like me because they were jealous, but thats just what I think.

We were preparing for our first competition and we looked good. When we were out on stage I noticed Sam came and I was so happy to see him. When it was time for awards we were kinda scared. We had thoughts that maybe we wouldn’t place. Once they announced that we one 1st place, which was the best feeling ever, we suddenly had different thoughts. I talked to Sam a little after but he had to go. He really acted different towards me, honestly i don’t know why.

Our next competition was coming up pretty soon so when we started back our practicing they worked us really hard because we had to win this competition it was the hardest one we would ever go to and we definitely had competition. I didn’t eat before I went to dance and I wasn’t feeling well and while i was dancing my sugar dropped so bad that I fell over and I remember hearing and somewhat feeling my ankle crack. When i finally woke back up I was laying a hospital bed. My ankle was all wrapped up I was connected to a lot of machines! I got really scared, then i saw Sam. I felt better seeing him but I still didn’t know what had happened. Sam told me everything and said I had to have an emergency surgery and the doctor said all went well. But of course my concern was being able to dance! I can’t dance on a broken ankle! Sam told me to calm down and all would be okay. When he said that it made me a little mad he knew what my dream was but he said it would be okay. NO it won’t I will never be able to dance like I did. My coaches were a little upset and told me I would be dismissed from all other competitions even if i’m well enough to dance. That really hurt me…

I decided to just go home with Sam and not stay on campus. It would have been a waste of time… I will dance again one day.
