Suffering Amnesia
I woke up hyperventilating. I am in a room made of brick. There is one door in the brick room. I went through the door in the brick room. Through the door I encountered a hallway which seemed endless. The flickering torches that were mounted on the wall gave the hall ambient lighting. I decided to go down the hall way. At the end of the hall way there was a door which had an arrow pointing down on it which was painted in dark red. I opened the door which revealed a pitch black room. I stepped back out into the hall way and saw a lantern by a torch and grabbed them both. I lit the lantern with the torch and entered the pitch black room. The room was a giant stair case going down. This is my best bet of getting out of here I told myself reassuringly. As I was walking down the uneven steps I tried to remember why I was here and who I was. I drew a blank. I finally saw a door after a couple hundred steps, but when I opened the door, the doorway was blocked by a brick wall. There was a crack in one of the bricks big enough that I could see into the room. In the room I saw a “thing” or monster with sharp claws on his hands, and a deformed or melted face, whispering “ I will get you Daniel Adams.”.

My heart almost stopped when I heard that name, it was very familiar. I could only infer that this was my name and I should walk down the steps faster to avoid contact with this monster. After a couple more hundred steps I felt a cold breeze go down my back. Then my lantern went out. I was trapped in the dark for what felt like 3 days which in reality might have been 3 hours. I was slowly going insane. I felt that people were whispering to me, breaking the confidence I had of getting out of this wretched place. Right when I was about to scream at these hallucinations a loud screech stopped me. Next thing I knew I was falling, fast. I felt a ledge and grabbed on to it. I saw a bright light and saw the monster from earlier. He shouted with his harsh voice “ You were the one who burned down my village!”. He then started to stomp on my hand that I was holding on to the ledge with. I started to fall down and remember experiencing the burning of a village but the memory was vague. I grabbed on to a brick that was jutting out of the wall. I climbed my way back up to the monster. Once I was with the monster I pushed him into the hole with full force. I ran away from the location as fast as I could but I felt my heart rate fluctuating, going from what felt like 4 BPM (Beats per minute) to 1000 BPM. Over and over until it settled at 38 BPM. My mind told me to look in my pockets for something. I shuffled through my pockets and found a flask with pills in it. The flask was labeled stabilization medication. I took the pills and sat down until my heart rate stabilized. I closed my eyes.

When I opened my eyes I was laying in a hospital bed and I was confronted by a doctor. The doctor exclaimed “ Ah yes you're finally awake soldier, it seems you took quite some damage from that building collapse in Tokyo, that damage includes temporary paralyzation, amnesia, hallucinations, and heart rate instability. Lucky for you commander Deuce found you in the debris and lugged you back to this camp.”
