And He Huffed and He Puffed, But the iPhone 5 Stands Strong
Once upon a -whoa, whoa, whoa this is the 21st century who starts a story with once upon a time anymore? I’m sure you all have heard the classic tale of the three little pigs and who could build the strongest house so the wolf wouldn’t blow it down, but if you haven’t here’s a little recap:
The first little pig said, “I’m gonna build my house out of straw.” The big bad
wolf comes up and he huffs and he puffs and he blows the house down.
Little piggy number two decides to build his house with twigs. The big bad wolf
comes and he huffs and he puffs and he blows the house down.
The third little pig, however, made his house out of brick, and the wolf huffed and
he puffed but he couldn’t blow the house down!
As a striving 21st century young adult I know that people aren‘t going to be building their houses out of straw or twigs. But, I do know one thing that’s for sure, and that is the advancement of smart phone technologies. How can we determine who’s ahead? Time to do some investigating.
Welcome to New York City, where streets are jam packed with taxi cabs, trendiest of trends are sparked and the hottest gossip spreads like wildfire. In the most luxurious cell phone provider loft complex lives three world wide known men, A. Paul, Andrew and Sam Sung. Each are known for their famous smart phone creations.; A. Paul - the iPhone 5, Andrew - all Android phones and Sam Sung - the Samsung Galaxy 3. Oh the competition! Between the best television commercials and producing more sales than the next guy the race for first place is always tight. The three men were completely unaware of how stiff the competition was until one day. September 21, 2012.
On this particular day the most technologically advanced family came strolling into the largest AT&T store in NYC in dire need of the best smart phone on the market. Each member of the Jobs family could examine a piece of technology and tell you the exact picture resolution. They. Meant. Business. The manager suggested the three top smart phones they had available, iPhone 5, Android and the Samsung Galaxy 3. AT&T’s presentation of the smart phones was crucial to their sale because they were conscious of how much the Jobs’ appreciated technology. So they brought in A. Paul, Andrew and Sam Sung in order to provide the most accurate information about each phone.
The first feature to be compared was the reliability of voice control. Andrew showed the Jobs how Edwin, the voice control app, worked.
“You can tweet, text, call and navigate all from this little app, and not to mention it’s all free!” Andrew explained.
“Hmm sounds pretty convincing, but I don’t really know if I would want to waste the time downloading an app…” Mr. Jobs pondered.
Next up was Sam Sung and the Samsung Galaxy 3 with the rival voice control app S. Voice.
Trying to persuade the picky family, Sam Sung begins to elaborate, “It can pick up everything you say for every command; however, the weather is not the most accurate.”
“Well it sounds like there are still a few flaws, and I really do like to make sure the weather is accurate…We will think about it.” Mrs. Jobs commented on Mr. Sung’s description.
“Now Siri is the best there is around. No installment, always accurate weather, directions and voice commands. Plus you can change the voice you would like to hear by a few taps on the screen!” A. Paul exclaimed about the iPhone 5.
“I love hearing different voices, but I would rather them change the voice by talking to it - not by touching the screen.” The daughter complained.
(At this point A. Paul, Andrew and Sam Sung were getting a little nervous because it didn’t seem like they could satisfy the Jobs family in anyway, but they weren’t going to give up now).
“Now compare the picture quality, as a technologically advanced family we document all of our activities through a high quality camera.” Mrs. Jobs snottily stated.
Andrew was up first to try to effectively persuade her why the Android was the best fit for camera resolution (this affects the picture resolution for all you non-tech junkies).
“Well, we have decent picture quality, and our camera makes a loud shutter noise so you know you’ve captured the moment, but as for resolution we tried our hardest!”
All Andrew was given from Mrs. Jobs was a jaw-dropping glare. She couldn’t believe how terrible the camera was on such a popular phone as the Android.
Sam Sung knew he had to step up his game.
“Well Mrs. Jobs, to give you a maximized view on everything you desire to capture, the Galaxy 3 takes eight photos simultaneously to try to enhance the best moments multiple times.”
“Ah, I see you do appreciate my value in capturing every valuable memory in my life - which is nearly everything!” Mrs. Jobs was thrilled.
A. Paul had knots in his stomach after her reaction to Sam Sung’s coaxing presentation. But, surely he could prove to her that the iPhone 5 was the best.
“Oh but Mrs. Jobs, look at the quality of the iPhone 5. Our newest iPhone can truly enhance the moments you want to remember the most through the panoramic technique. This way, nothing is left out of the picture and you will have a 360-degree view of your surroundings - just like you’re there!”
“Incredibly impressive A. Paul. I do love to be engulfed by a picture to really feel as if I am in the moment again. I approve!” Mrs. Jobs was clearly satisfied with the iPhone 5.
The choice became clear. After intense discussion, the Jobs family concluded the iPhone 5 suited all their technologically advanced needs.
Joy.
Relief.
Elation.
A. Paul finally dashed to first place and reigned the champion in the smart phone world.
