She falls to the ground first fast then slow, shes hurt, wounded, and broken. She flutters her wings hoping to help, hoping to not let the world she past her sheild. Her sheild is colorful, bright, and happy. But behind it is sadness, tears, and truth. She lies on the ground cold and still as her sheild goes from pink to grey.


The author's comments:
This poem was written during a low part of my life. I felt as if I had to pretend to the world that I was happy. When inside I wasn't. Things are different now, but I know that everyone has felt this way at some point in their life.
