It Lurks

In the late twilight sun, a shadow lurks as a young man reveals a pack of cigarettes from his coat pocket. While he takes out his lighter he hears it. It's a ghostly, inexpressible sound, erupting out of nowhere. The man looked up abruptly, closely surveying his surroundings, but after a minute of contemplating, he noticed nothing. He went back to lighting his cigar. Soon after, he falls into an endless sleep.
