Passion
There is nothing else in the world that brings so many emotions. Happiness, fear, confidence, anxiety, pride, hatred, joy, pain, love. Everyone has different strengths. Track and field allows people to find their event; their place to achieve greatness.
If there’s one thing people know about me, it’s my love for track. The word is constantly flowing out of my mouth. My track life is like a revolving door that never stops. Whether it’s from running or my teammates, it can consistently bring a smile upon my face. Hearing the loud applause and my name being yelled as I run by. The encouragement pushes me to my highest speed.
I would have never thought that I would find myself so attached to a sport that isn’t soccer. Soccer was the reason why I joined track in the first place. I am grateful I joined, it has given me so more than just speed or stamina. It’s given me a copious amount of friends, memories, and an infinite amount of joy. It’s taught me that I can achieve more than I thought I ever could, that pain is temporary, and in the end it’s all worth it.
The 2:05 bell is awaited by the anxious students craving to go home. To me, that bell is like the light at the end of a dark tunnel. The busy stairwells, quick steps, and loud noises all eager to leave the worst place. With a steady pace and soft smile, I make my way to the cafeteria to start the best part of my day. It’s the time I get to spend with all my friends doing something we all love.
